Concept
Resthouses are served as an escape from the bustling city by taking advantage of the tranquil environment it sits in. The site is located in Ferrol, Tablas Island fronting the ivory-white sands of Binucot beach. Also at its front is the Binucot Sea Turtle Sanctuary, where female turtles safely return from their migrations to lay eggs of their own.
Locals take pride in the spectacular sunset view that can be witnessed in Binucot beach. It is considered to be a tourist destination that is largely uncharted in the country.
“Come Home to Nature”
The design intends to maintain the integrity of nature by creating architecture with a symbiotic relationship to its environment; the ivory-white sands and spectacular sunset view of Binucot beach IT is done by combining the basics of tropical architecture including natural daylight, natural ventilation, and proper building orientation with principles of modern architecture including the open plan, horizontal windows, and free facade.
The vision is to create an intimate sanctuary that reconnects with nature while embracing the traditions and context of a modern Filipino family.

Symbiotic relationship of the people, nature, and architecture.
